W…W…W…Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should be Reading.
TO PLAY ALONG, JUST ANSWER THE FOLLOWING THREE (3) QUESTIONS:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
_________________________________________________________________________________
What are you currently reading?
Currently I’m reading The White Woman on the Green Bicycle by Monique Roffey. I’m up to page 65 and haven’t really got into it yet.
What did you recently finish reading?
I just finished the True Blood Omnibus 1 by Charlaine Harris, which is comprised of the first 3 books of The Southern Vampire series: Dead Until Dark, Living Dead in Dallas, and Club Dead. I’d already read the first book separately, and you can find my review here.
What do you think you’ll read next?
The next book i’ll read is Ken Follett’s latest novel, book #2 of The Century Trilogy, Winter of the World. I loved the first book in this series, Fall of Giants, so am looking forward to reading this although I’ve heard mixed reviews.
Feel free to let me know your thoughts on any of these books, although no spoilers please for the ones I haven’t read yet!

1. Currently reading Friends Like these by Cathy Kelly. Every now and then I enjoy a Cathy Kelly book. I enjoy the female centric themes and find them quite cathartic.
2. Just finished The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling. Certainly a different book to the Harry Potter series. I found the characters unlikable and overall the book was very bleak.
3. I have the Fifty Shades series to read but I’m too scared the writing will be so poor I will be disappointed. So probably the next read for me will be A Simpler Time by Peter Fitzsimons.
Thanks for commenting! I want to read the Casual Vacancy, shame to hear it was bleak, maybe JK Rowling should stick to children/YA books?
I’ve vowed to never read Fifty Shades of Grey due to the apparent terrible writing, i don’t feel like i’m missing out! Let me know if you end up reading them
I’ve always fancied reading The White Woman on the Green Bicycle! Sorry to read it hasn’t gripped you yet!
To be fair I’m not far enough in to make a proper judgement! Will probably review it in the next week or so, so stay tuned!
WWW Wednesdays – what a great idea. I won’t spoil anything, just say that I’m impressed your reading is so organized!
I’m with Alldara on “Casual Vacancy,” which is the book I’m currently reading. I may quit and donate it to the library.
I just finished “Data, A Love Story,” how a series of bad dates led one woman to game the online dating system to meet the perfect (for her) man. If you love data, you’ll find this far more stimulating and romantic than “50 Shades”! (Which I’ve vowed never to read, too.)
Future read is up in the air. Possibly a business book, called “Tribal Leadership.”
I have some odd habits when it comes to reading and definitely am organized about what will be read next.
I’ll definitely take a look at those recs, thanks! Such a shame about The Casual Vacancy – the Harry potter books were so amazing and such a big part of my teenage years, I was hoping she’d do great adult fiction to last me my adult years!
Thanks for reading Vickie
The Ken Follett book looks interesting. I’ve heard good things about his writing and one day I should probably give his work a try.
My WWW Wednesday is here.
You definitely should. Fall of giants is one of my favourite books ever and I highly recommend it
